Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. The most common types of massage are:

  • Swedish massage - the most popular and gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
  • Deep tissue massage -this technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of your muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
  • Sports massage This is similar to Swedish massage, but it's geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
  • Trigger point massage This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
What To Expect In Your Massage Session

The Massage Session

Your session will start with our therapist asking about your symptoms, medical history, problem areas and what you're hoping to get out of massage.

You will undress to the point that you're comfortable, lie on a table and be covered with a sheet. Your therapist touch to locate painful or tense areas and determine how much pressure to apply. They will then use one or more techniques during your session. Afterwards, you should feel calm and relaxed.
